Young & Energetic At Heart

Senior Ministries is offered through an active “Young and Energetic at Heart” (YEAH) group
which meets monthly for fun activities, as well as four day trips each year.

Come join together as we host a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day party for the residents at Resthave Home!  Spend an hour or so having fun, fellowship, refreshments
and prizes as we celebrate shamrocks & leprechauns with our brothers and sisters who are residing at Resthave.  More details will be presented, but please mark your
calendars as we enjoy this event together!

Easter Potluck & Care Package Preparation for College Students
Come and join together as we have a great time celebrating Easter with a good old-fashioned pot luck meal, followed by an opportunity to bless the college students
from Emmanuel.  In addition to a dish or two to pass, please bring 2 dozen cookies or bars that we can use to create “packages of love” that will be sent to our
college students to let them know we have not forgotten them and they are loved.  This will be a great time of fellowship together.

Adult Mission to Serve the Lansing City Rescue Mission, Lansing, MI
A unique opportunity to serve geared specifically for the 50+ age group
Monday will be a travel day as we head to Lansing, MI, stopping enroute for late breakfast/early lunch before arriving in Michigan.  We will stay at the Homewood
Suites by Hilton, chosen due to the nice accommodations but also because it offers a free hot breakfast each morning and a free evening supper is provided for hotel
guests, as well. (There are restaurants within walking distance to this hotel if you care to eat there instead of the complimentary supper at the hotel, but this will be at
your own expense.)   

On Tuesday we will spend our first day of service at one of the three buildings of the Lansing City Rescue Mission.  With an estimated 5,000 people who identify
themselves as homeless in the region, there is a huge need for this ministry.  The mission’s executive director, Mark Criss, first cousin of Rich, said this mission with
three buildings: one for males needing help; one for women and children needing assistance, and one for persons struggling with alcohol and drug addiction.  100,000
meals each year are served from this rescue mission, and an average of 150 people each night receive shelter in this faith-based shelter.  Tuesday, Wednesday and
Thursday mid-mornings through late afternoon will be spent performing assistance such as painting, cleaning, sorting items for the thrift store, working in the food
kitchen and other areas as needed.  These activities will be specifically geared towards the physical abilities of the 50-60+ person with some of the work being able to
be done until sitting.  On Friday, we will depart Lansing and head for Illinois, arriving home late afternoon.

Every effort is being made to make this trip as affordable as possible.  Fundraising for this trip may be an option, as well, to cut down on expenses.

Price: $600 per person includes bus, lodging and all meals.

Ball Brothers in concert at Fireside!!
When it comes to the Ball Brothers, forget what you know about other "gospel quartets." Because this unique group stands in stark contrast to many preconceived
notions regarding traditional quartet music, the Ball Brothers have found life "outside of the box." Tenor vocalist, Andrew, states, "We're a younger group and we're a
different kind of group. At first, it was a struggle trying to imitate other groups and fit into the proverbial 'southern gospel mold'. We finally stopped apologizing for
what we weren't and have embraced the uniqueness of our God-given voices and harmonies. Since then, our musical horizons have expanded, and our ministry has
really taken off."

Since their formation in 2006, the Ball Brothers have rapidly made their mark in Christian music by finding a musical balance between the old and the new. "We've
never been to a place where every person in the audience was the same age. On the contrary, most places we go have a mixture of young, middle-aged, and older
people. So, our music style and song selection is based around that blend. It's great to see a grandmother and granddaughter worshiping together and enjoying the
same music. We get to see that on a regular basis," says lead vocalist, Daniel.

“Spirit of Peoria” Riverboat Cruise with the Kramer Family in Christian Concert!
Celebrating our 24th year, RiverLife gospel music lunch cruises combine quality family-oriented entertainment with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
RiverLife cruises are sponsored by Hands of Love Ministry and hosted by The Kramers and take place on the beautiful “Spirit of Peoria” paddle wheeler.  A delicious
lunch buffet is served prior to the concert.

Come join together as we host a wonderful Harvest party for the residents at Windsor Manor!  Spend an hour or so having fun, fellowship, refreshments and prizes
as we celebrate the season of Harvest with our brothers and sisters who are residing at Windsor Manor.  More details will be presented, but please mark your
calendars as we enjoy this event together!

Circa 21: Christmas Show yet to be Announced
Knowing the awesome reputation of Circa 21’s Christmas shows, I have secured us excellent seats for the December 4 matinee performance of their Christmas
show what will be announced in June, 2019.  As soon as I know what the show will be, I will get the word out, but wanted to have the date and activity decided.
As always, this will feature a plated meal choice so you won’t have to manage a plate of food while navigating steps and ramps that are part of the Circa 21
experience.  Of course…choice of dessert will be included!
